How to add account/s to Windows Live Mail

Follow the Windows Live Mail (WLM) installation instructions. After WLM is installed in your computer you must enable POP/IMAP/SMTP setting for each email account before you can use them in WLM. Use any browser and log in to your email account (Yahoo, Gmail, Live etc). To enable POP access for:

Yahoo Mail
Options > POP Access and Forwarding > choose Web & POP Access > Save

Google Mail
Setting > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > choose Enable POP for all mail > Save Changes

Start your WLM application (Start > Windows Live > Windows Live Mail). A pop-up will ask you if you want to add an email account or not, in which you will answer by entering email address and password. Wait for few seconds and done!

For additional accounts, you can set up as many accounts you want to by clicking ‘add email account’ at left side panel.

ps: If you have @yahoo.com account then you will have to upgrade your Yahoo! account first to enable POP/SMTP setting. You need to register/change to @yahoo.co.uk or any other yahoo mail region in order to use this function for free. No subscription is needed for any other regions (including Malaysia).

Most of us use the internet like we living in it. From the total of almost 7 billion people around the world, more than 1 billion of us (23% !) are internet users [1]. We have blogs, emails, and some of us are managing shops on the internet. But do we need to be online for hours just to check the email? And how about this; super slow loading page, especially if you use wireless broadband. Start from this part, I will teach you how to get stick to the internet without the need to sit in front of your pc for hours.

Email client is a program that you can use to manage emails. That is, you can send or receive emails from popular email service (Yahoo, Google, Live, etc) right from your desktop. You can download most of the clients for free [2]. The best client I ever use is Windows Live Mails (WLM), developed by Microsoft [3]. If your operating system is either Vista or Windows Xp, then go to their website and grab the Live packages. No charges, absolutely free.

Since I changed to WLM, I have been monitoring all my 11 email accounts without any problem. Next I will teach you how to add an email account to WLM.
